Farmers testing the NAIS SMsize platform using mobile phones

The development of the NAIS SMsize Internet based platform has reached an advanced stage. Recently, a team of NAIS project team were in Kasama, Northern Zambia, about 850km from Lusaka, to go and test the  platform with smallholder farmers. Above members of the Chilongoshi radio farmers listening group test the platform by sending their agricultural questions with a mobile phone by sending SMS's to the system.
The farmers who were shown how the platform will work feel the system will reduce production loses as they will be able to get answers to many of their farming questions on time.
