At the end of the competition, Bishops Junior High School won the competition with 52 points. Yoo Roman Catholic junior High School in Savelugu came second with 45 points while Pong Tamale D/A Primary and Junior High School came third with 35 points.
The winner took home a Computer with its accessories and a set of pen drives. The school that came second also took home a computer with its accessories while the third placed school took home a set of pen drives and books.
Speaking at the end of the competition, the Executive Director of Savana Signatures, John Stephen Agbenyo thanked all participating schools for the energy and time they spent in preparing the students. He mentioned that the quiz competition was one of the knowledge sharing activities that Savana Signatures has planned for its ICT clubs in various schools and stated that the competition will be scaled up to cover the entire nation starting with the three regions of the north. He stated that Savana Signatures is an NGO that is focused on using ICTs for development. He mentioned that the current focus of Savana Signatures is to mainstream ICTs into Education.
He took the opportunity to announce that Savana Signatures had secured funding from the Connect 4 Change (C4C) Consortium in the Netherlands to mainstream ICTs into Education in schools in the Northern region. He mentioned that three schools; Darul Hardis Junior High School in Tamale, Pong Tamale D/A Primary School in Pong Tamale and Yoo Roman Catholic Junior High School in Savelugu will benefit from the first phase of the project. The project, he explained included Capacity Building for all partner schools, digitization of school administration of partner schools and provision of hardware and capacity building for the schools to use ICT tools in teaching and learning in their schools.
