The Global Alliance for Nursing and Midwifery (GANM) Community of Practice is a virtual community of nurses, midwives and others interested in pursuing solutions to key global health issues and challenges through enhancing the contributions of nursing and midwifery. Its vision is to provide a global link among the 13 million nurses and midwives worldwide, the 6000 training institutions in nursing and midwifery, the 44 WHO collaborating centres, the 80 chief nursing officers and the 125 professional associations and regulatory bodies.
GANM's membership has grown to more than 2000 members from 148 countries since its launch in September of 2005. But with your support and engagement we could reach a much larger population of nurses and midwives across the world.
Over the past five years, GANM has proven to be a simple innovative and cost effective way for nurses and midwives from many countries to capture and transfer knowledge, fill information gaps and share experiences. However, there are many nurses and midwifes who have not had the opportunity to join this active community so we are organizing a re-launch starting with a global discussion forum on how we should shape the future activities of GANM to meet the information needs of different nurses and midwives across the world. We will hold this virtual discussion forum from 21st November to 10th December 2010. It will be facilitated by members of the GANM Steering Committee. Our aim will be to consider what we have learned about the information needs of nurses and midwives and where we want to focus activities of the GANM Community of Practice to enhance the contribution of nurses and midwives to global health issues. We want to get input from GANM Members on what future activities we should engage into to meet these goals.
Please add your experience and opinions to this global dialogue so that we not only meet the information needs of this vast community but join forces to add our voice to issues which focus on enhancing the role of nurses and midwives on addressing global health issues.
You will receive no more than two emails per day related to the discussion.
If you are already a Member of GANM you are already registered for the forum. If you want to invite others the link to register is http://my.ibpinitiative.o....
